PI Fine Art
As an Industrial Designer at PI Fine Art, I contributed to the development of custom architectural art, alternative wall décor, sculptural installations, and mixed-material interior products for hospitality, commercial, and residential environments.
My responsibilities included concept development, CAD modeling, prototyping, material exploration, sourcing, manufacturing support, and preparing products for production. I collaborated closely with artists, engineers, and production teams to balance aesthetics, manufacturability, and commercial viability.
PI Fine Art supplies custom architectural art, mirrors, and decorative products for major hospitality, commercial, and residential projects, including work for international hotel brands such as Marriott and Hilton.
Portrait Wall Sculpture: This concept explored how a two-dimensional portrait could be transformed into a sculptural object through layered construction. By separating the artwork into multiple vertical acrylic or wood panels, the image changes as the viewer moves around the piece, creating depth, movement, and an interactive viewing experience. Responsibilities: • Concept Development • Product Design • Prototype Development • Material Exploration
Layered Acrylic Landscape: This prototype explored the visual possibilities of stacked translucent acrylic panels to create a three-dimensional landscape. The changing perspective and subtle color gradients allow the artwork to shift as the viewer moves around the installation, creating a unique spatial experience. Responsibilities: • Concept Design • Material Research • Prototype Development
Illuminated Jungle Shadow Box: This dimensional artwork combines layered acrylic prints, lighting, and depth to create an immersive visual scene. The design demonstrates how traditional wall art can evolve into architectural décor by integrating sculptural elements and illumination within a framed composition. Responsibilities: • Product Development • Prototype Development • Material Selection & Sourcing • Design Refinement
Circular 3D Wall Art: This decorative acrylic concept explored custom printing techniques on Dibond and acrylic to create contemporary wall décor with transparency, depth, and layered visual effects suitable for residential and commercial interiors. Responsibilities: • Product Development • Material Exploration • Material Sourcing for Mass-Production • Prototype Development • Design Refinement
Frosted Vertical Installation: This concept investigated how multiple translucent acrylic panels could create depth, motion, and changing visual effects through repetition and perspective. The project explored architectural applications where light, transparency, and material layering become integral to the artwork itself. Responsibilities: • Concept Development • Prototype Evaluation • Material & Installation Testing
BDNY (Boutique Design New York) Trade Show Installation: The showroom showcased a collection of architectural products, dimensional artwork, and custom installations developed by PI Fine Art for commercial and hospitality spaces. The display highlighted the company's focus on innovative interior products beyond traditional framed artwork. Responsibilities: • Product Development Support • Installation testing & troubleshooting • Display Preparation • Booth Installation • Prototype Coordination
Team Photo: Photographed in PI's booth during the IDS (Interior Design Show) in Toronto. This installation featured one of the company's custom illuminated avant-garde concepts alongside several alternative wall décor products developed for commercial interiors.
